Request for Information: Behavioural Support Services

Disability Support Services (DSS) is seeking feedback and information to help inform the future planning of Behavioural Support Services (BSS).

We want to better understand:

  • what supports positive outcomes for disabled people, families and whānau
  • practical and effective approaches to Behavioural Support Services
  • workforce capability and capacity
  • innovative approaches to service delivery
  • opportunities to support timely access to services and supports
  • factors that support sustainable, long-term improvement
  • emerging needs and future priorities for Behavioural Support Services.

Why are we doing this?

The information gathered will help DSS better understand the current BSS landscape, and identify opportunities to strengthen services and support sustainable, long-term improvement.

Who can provide feedback?

We welcome feedback from:

  • Behavioural Support Service providers
  • Disabled people, whānau, families and carers
  • Peak bodies and advocacy organisations
  • NASCs
  • Community Disability Services providers
  • Other organisations with an interest in BSS.

How can I provide feedback?

Providers

We encourage providers to submit responses through GETS using the RFI response form.

GETS - Behavioural Support Services Request for Information external

If you are unable to use GETS, use the RFI documents and response form below. You may email these to dss_procurement@msd.govt.nz.

Disabled people, whānau, families, carers and organisations

We are interested hearing about what good Behavioural Support Services would look like for you.

We are especially interested in hearing about any practical or innovative supports that have worked well for you, and what changes or suggestions you have to help achieve longer-term positive outcomes.
