The Minister for Disability Issues has announced that the Government is introducing a new Disability Support Services Bill.
The Bill builds on what disabled people, families, whānau, and carers have told us, and the actions already taken to strengthen and stabilise Disability Support Services (DSS).
The Bill is intended to be the first phase of providing a foundational legislative framework for DSS.

There are no immediate changes to DSS services, funding or eligibility.
- People should continue to access their supports and funding as they do now.
- Existing assessment and allocations processes continue.
The Bill will be considered by Select Committee
