From today, disabled people have more options to use their flexible funding in ways that work for them – with the purchasing rules, including the March 2024 changes, now removed.
Today’s changes have been shaped by feedback from disabled people, whānau and carers, who said they wanted more choice and control over their supports.
They build on recent improvements to how people’s needs are assessed and funding is allocated, and help create a more stable foundation for improving the disability support system over time.
From today
- More choice and control: The purchasing rules for flexible funding - including the March 2024 changes - no longer apply for:
- Carer Support
- Individualised Funding
- Enhanced Individualised Funding
- Hosted Enabling Good Lives personal budgets.
- Continuity: People’s allocated budgets for flexible funding continue as they are – there is no change.
- Guidance: People with hosted flexible funding will receive guidance from their host to help them manage their funding, choices and supports.
