Budgets

Information about changes in funding for Disability Support Services announced in the Government's Budgets.

Disability Support Services is a business unit within MSD and is funded through appropriations, within Vote DSS.

Budget 2026

DSS has seen significant investments in recent Budgets. For example, there was new funding in Budget 2024 of $1.1 billion over five years ($237 million per year), and in Budget 2025 of $1 billion over four years ($250 million per year).

For the 2026/27 financial year, total appropriations within Vote DSS continue to increase. This will allow DSS to provide more funding to our NASCs and contracted providers and enable them to support both current and new eligible disabled people to access our services.

DSS will continue working with the disability community and providers to improve outcomes for disabled people.

Budget 2025

Budget 2025 includes more than $1 billion in new funding for Disability Support Services (DSS).
