Enhanced Audit Programme gets underway

DSS is implementing the Enhanced Audit Programme together with our strategic audit partner KPMG.

The programme represents a shift to a more consistent, transparent, and outcomes focused approach.

Audits are underway across the country, with early insights being used to guide improvements to the programme.

We are taking a staged approach to the rollout, starting with community group homes. Over time, the programme will expand to include other providers and service types.

We will continue to keep you updated as this work progresses.

Enhanced audit framework

The programme is guided by an audit framework. The framework reflects what good disability support looks like and how quality will be assessed.

The framework helps ensure audits take a consistent, person-centred approach, focusing on the quality, safety, and effectiveness of services, as well as the outcomes that matter most to disabled people and their whānau.
