From 8 June to 31 July, Disability Support Services will be asking the disability community how we can further improve a number of key service areas.
Consultation documents, information and workshop registrations are available here: www.disabilitysupport.govt.nz/haveyoursay
What this consultation is about
Over the past two years, the disability community has shared their experiences and ideas with DSS.
That feedback has made a difference, including more consistent needs assessments and more choice and control over flexible funding
We know there is more to do.
This consultation builds on what DSS has already heard.
It focuses on key service areas the disability community has said matter most. This includes more flexible supports, better planning for life changes, outcomes that matter, better information and advice, making it easier to give feedback, and better respite options for carers.
We know there are several changes happening for the disability community at the moment. Running this consultation now means service improvements can continue, building on what the community has said, instead of waiting longer for change.
