Find out how we ensure disability services are safe, respectful, inclusive and support the life you want to live.
We review disability support services we fund to help make sure they are safe, high-quality and support people's aspirations, choices, rights and wellbeing.
Our reviews, which we call audits, help us identify what is working well and what isn't, to help use ensure service providers consistently deliver good care and support.
What happens during an audit
Our auditors carry out reviews of disability support services.
During a review, auditors may:
- visit the service and talk with staff
- talk to disabled people using the service, their whānau and/or others supporting them.
Sharing your feedback and experiences helps us understand what matters most to you and where improvements may be needed.
How audits help us improve services
Information from audits helps us:
- understand what's working well and what could be better
- work with providers to improve their services
- share good ideas across the disability support sector
- make decisions about disability supports we fund
- make sure providers are accountable for the services they deliver.
If you are not happy with a service
You do not have to wait for an audit to tell us if you are not happy with a disability service you have received. Learn how you can make a complaint or provide feedback about disability services on our Complaints and feedback page.
