EGL site decisions on adopting changes to assessments, allocations and flexible funding

In September, the Government announced upcoming changes to Disability Support Services assessments, allocations, and flexible funding.

This announcement applied to people who receive supports from a Needs Assessment Coordination Service (NASC).

In keeping with community leadership, the upcoming changes did not immediately include people receiving supports through an Enabling Good Lives site.

Since then, the Regional Leadership Groups that support each site, have worked with their communities to consider what adopting these changes (and removing the purchase rules) would mean.

Each community was asked to advise on the option that the local site will take.

DSS is pleased to confirm that the Regional Leadership Groups supporting Mana Whaikaha and EGL Christchurch have informed us of their communities’ decisions to adopt the new changes to assessment, allocation and flexible funding.

The Regional Leadership Group in Waikato, continues to engage with DSS and their community regarding their final decision.

DSS wishes to acknowledge the work of the Regional Leadership Groups and the communities they represent. These are important decisions, and we appreciate the effort that goes into sharing information, facilitating hui and feeding back comunity voice.
